God’s Promise is Achieved – Part 1
Genesis 3:15 (NKJV)
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” – Genesis 3:15 (NKJV)
Biblical Old Testament covenants were very dramatic and eventful. However, our God is just and faithful; and as serious about the covenants He made then as He is with His Word today. There’s no change; He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19).
‘Plug in’ and ‘turn on’ to enjoy the promises of God. God proclaimed some things over our lives, and understand whatever God promises, He will deliver. God’s promise is not a pledge secured by negotiation. It is already secured. He will provide exactly what he said He will deliver.
God made a promise to Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3), which trickles down to you and me today, and all our generations to come. We are blessed. This is our God.
God sent Jesus to fulfill the law – He came as a promise (Genesis 3:15 and Isaiah 53). Not only is Christ perfect, but He is the fulfillment of all the promises of God. 1 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV) says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ…”. He has placed His Spirit within us, guaranteeing what is to come (V 22).
Christ has gone to the throne to make petitions for us (Romans 8:34). No one can be compared to Him nor achieve what He has (I Chronicles 17: 20). His Redemption work is finished. We have been bought back from sin. God’s covenant with Noah was a commitment to maintain the inherent relationship between Creator and creation (Genesis 9: 8-17); this also has been fulfilled. Praise God!
